\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStudied architecture but considers himself a sculptor. His works integrate elements of theater, psychology and activism. His work takes a variety of forms. In 2008, Reyes initiated the ongoing Palas por Pistolas project in which 1,527 guns were collected in Mexico through a voluntary donation campaign to produce the same number of shovels to plant 1,527 trees. This led to Disarm (2012), where 6,700 destroyed guns were transformed into a series of musical instruments. He held a visiting faculty position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology during the fall of 2016, and held his residency at MIT CAST as the inaugural Dasha Zhukova Distinguished Visiting Artist. Recently, Pedro Reyes was commissioned by The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists together with ICAN, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, winners of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize, to raise awareness of the growing risk of nuclear conflict, for which he developed Atomic Amnesia to be presented in Times Square, NYC May 2022. For his work on disarmament, Reyes received the Luxembourg Peace Prize in 2021. In 2022 Reyes had his first solo exhibition in Europe, at the Marta Herford Museum in Germany, where he presented a large body of his early work.<\/span>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Estudi\u00f3 arquitectura pero se considera escultor. Sus obras integran elementos de teatro, psicolog\u00eda y activismo. Su obra adopta una gran variedad de formas. En 2008, Reyes inici\u00f3 el proyecto en curso<\/span> Palas por Pistolas <\/span><\/i>en el que se recogieron 1.527 armas en M\u00e9xico a trav\u00e9s de una campa\u00f1a de donaci\u00f3n voluntaria para producir el mismo n\u00famero de palas para plantar 1.527 \u00e1rboles. Esto condujo a <\/span>Disarm <\/span><\/i>(2012), donde 6.700 armas destruidas se transformaron en una serie de instrumentos musicales. Ocup\u00f3 un puesto de profesor visitante en el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Massachusetts durante el oto\u00f1o de 2016, y llev\u00f3 a cabo su residencia en el CAST del MIT como artista visitante distinguido inaugural Dasha Zhukova.
